Coronado Beach located on the ocean side of Coronado Island, south of the Naval Air Station and continues south to the Hotel Del Coronado and beyond (San Diego County, California). In 2008, The Travel Channel rated Coronado Beach as the fifth best beach in America and In 2011 Stephen Leatherman (Dr. Beach) ranked Coronado Beach as the second best beach in the United States.
Coronado has the widest expanse of sand of any beach in San Diego County. There’s always plenty of room for the kids and adults to play catch, fly a kite, or simply run in the sand.
Coronado Beach is the perfect beach to spend an entire day or weekend sprawled out under an umbrella until the sun sets over the Pacific Ocean. or you can do activities such as swim, surf, sail, bodyboard, fish, beach volleyball, kite flying, biking or just fall asleep in the sun. In January through March, you can also see migrating whales on their journey to Baja California.
Coronado Beach has Park free on Ocean Boulevard, restrooms, showers, lifeguards, tide pool and try the free parking lots on Avenida Lunar and Avenida de las Arenas.
